UltraFire Rapid Charger & AW rechargable batteries
UltraFire Rapid Charger
Lithium-ion Batteries (Li-ion Batteries) are batteries with one of the best energy-to-weight ratios. They do not have any memory effect and have a slow loss of charge when not in use. Li-ion batteries are much lighter than other equivalent secondary batteries. Care should be taken while handling these batteries. Unless care is taken their life span may be reduced. These AW Batteries we have here have built in Protection PCB that prevents Over Discharge, Over Charging and also offer Short Circuit protection. These batteries have life cycle of more than 500 charge-discharge cycles. AW Batteries also feature New Anti-Explosion Vent/PTC Module. The new module provides an added layer of protection against gas built-up in addition to the PTC thermal protection. Unlike regular vents used by most LiIon cells, these new modules will actually stop the action by separating the electrodes inside the battery when the pressure reaches a preset threshold. The vent disc will open and release the gas plus stopping the cell from further chemical reaction. Combined with the PCB electronic protection and two layers of mechanical ( thermal and pressure ) protection, these new protected cells are one of the first with added safey features in place.
New protection PCB with a higher current threshold (up to 5A +/- 0.5A )
Removable sticker label to reduce overall diameter
Button tops for better contact without the need for spacers Steel bottom plate for better wear protection from tail cap rings
Caution: Due care has to be taken while handling these batteries.
Following are general precautions.
Do not discharge below 3 Volts
Do not short circuit the terminals
Do not dispose in fire
Do not reverse charge
As a general rule for LiIon batteries, the charging voltage should not exceed
4.2V and the charging current should be under 1C ( C = capacity ). Optimal rate is 0.7C.
The protected LiIon batteries have built-in overcharge protection + the charger will stop when the LED turns green ( after 1 hr ).
As a safety precaution, it is best to to remove batteries from the charger when they finished charging. Do not leave the charging process unattended.
(1) yes, with spacer (2) yes, with adaptor (such as wires with alligator clips)
(3) yes, but it will take a long time due to low charging current
(4) no, charging current is too high
(5) only in pairs, otherwise charging current may be too high
(6) only one charging channel, so the charging current will be split when it charges two cells at once (see note 5);
the DSD charging current depends on the 'wall wart' transformer that is used, the normal stock unit seems to be 350-400mA
but some people have used transformers with higher current ratings (7) dual independent channels, so if two cells are charged they will both see the rated charging current; the UltraFire WF-138
charging current is 250mA per channel; an Additional Feature of the WF-138 is a 4.2V / 3.6V selector for charging 3.7V
or 3.0V LiIon cells (the recessed switch is designed so you won't accidentially move the setting, you'll have to use a
paper clip to change the setting manually) (8) dual independent channels, so if two cells are
charged they will both see the rated charging current; the UltraFire WF-139
charging current is 450mA per channel
(9) The 10270 cell is a shortened AAA cell that has the diameter of an AAA cell but the length of an N cell
